   One of the very few remaining shuttle launches will be occurring this week; STS-126  is scheduled to launch on November 14th at 7:55 P.M. EST (yes, another spectacular night launch!) and dock with the ISS on Day 3. (more…)

   Most years, the Taurid meteor shower doesn’t merit a second look; this minor shower radiating from the constellation Taurus the bull usually generates a maximum rate of less than five meteors per hour. (more…)

Vesta

This Halloween brings a chance to spot one of the brightest known asteroids. 4 Vesta  is currently placed in the constellation Cetus, the Whale and will be in opposition on October 29th this year, and thus be visible in moonless skies nearly all night. (more…)
